This is the March edition of Japanese magazine VoCE that I bought at my Japanese market (Mitsuwa--8$!!!) Here are some shots of the nail art I found inside the pages. I'll take pics of them and post them too.

Enjoy!

Haul: Nail Polish Gifts

Recently one of my friends just gave me these four polishes for no reason at all! While I know I can't wear that highlighter yellow, I can't wait to try the other three.

Gunmetal: China Glaze Awaken
Yellow: China Glaze Celtic Sun (neon)
Purple: Sinful Kismet Elated
Glitter: Orly Shine On Crazy Diamond

Hopefully I will get the chance to use Awaken as soon as my nails grow out to a decent length!

Review: Sinful Colors #349 Sweet Nothing.

Hi all! Today I've used a Sinful Colors nail polish--available for 1.99 at Walgreens! While I have a small stash of Sinfuls (who wouldn't, at that price?) I do have a few gripes with them.
But let's see the good points first shall we?

The brush is really nice on these polishes. You can saturate it with color, so that it can apply evenly over a wide nail, but small enough for more narrow nails. A+! I much prefer it over the ProWide brushes on the OPI polishes, as my nails are quite small.

However, OPI wins out in the pigmentation contest. Sinfuls are VERY sheer! Any one of them I have to use at least 3 coats to cover the white of my nail. I think that this color, a light baby pink with green flash, is supposed to be sheer however.

Which brings me to the color of this polish. Like I said before, it's a light peachy pink. It gives my nails a milky look to them, with an edge. In the light, there's a flash of green throughout the color, which is really cool! While you can't see it in these pictures, I think it's more visible in the brush one.

In those pictures, you probably can see an area at the edge of the nail where the color seems to be pushed up. Well, this is another thing I hate about the Sinful colors. They never seem to dry properly on me, and then normal wear and tear push the coats up from the edge of my nail and wack it all up. Dang, this was barely twenty minutes after I put my top coat on! However, the wear of these over a base coat and under a top coat is really good, 1 - 1/2 weeks.

All in all, a great bargain from 1.99 at Walgreens (and only available at Walgreens!).

NOTD: Pink and Purple Glitter

For this NOTD, I used:

OPI Natural Nail Base Coat
OPI Black Onyx as base color (1 coat)
Shiseido Integrate RS361 nail polish (1 coat on top of OPI)

Here's how it turned out :)

NOTD: OPI It's All Greek To Me

I loove OPI, but some of the pinks just don't work for me (pretty much everything, like Arose at Dawn, broke by noon, the pales, medium pinks, etc). Well, I finally found a pink I like!! And the finish is beautiful and doesn't chip for at least 4 days. I'm happy!

I think this pic shows it the best:

NOTD: Clarins 103

I recently recieved this in a swap and loved the color! However, after I took a shower with it on (base coat, 3 layers of color and top coat) it just completely peeled off. Up for swap it goes...

It's a semi sheer opaque milky pink tinged white. The formula doesn't streak and applies smoothly.

Nails: OPI My Private Jet

Here's yet another nail of the day! It's my first Holo (short for holographic I think, meaning it flashes rainbow for those who don't know). I really love it, and am definetly checking out more holos--my eye is on those China Glaze ones. As usual, this one lasts at least 1 1/2 weeks on me and 3 or more on my toes with base/top coat. Great value. The color isn't so much black as a gunmetal gray base with all the rainbowy goodness.

See pics!

Available for 8$ at ULTA, Sally's and nail salons around you.

Ettusais Set of 5 Nail Polish Minis

Ettusais is the hard to find drugstore brand under Shiseido. They do lipglosses and nail polishes well, as well as eyeshadows; even if they're a little sheer. It's pretty cheap, so worth hunting down while in Asia. It is available at Ichibankao. The colors are: Green: 3, Yellow: 7, Pink: 8, Blue: 9, Black: 10. Each bottle is 2ml. The set is called 'Ettusais Dress Up Nails!". There is another variation; a sheer pink to dark reds. Unfortunately, I do not know the retail price since this was gifted to me and the price tag taken off.

The green is a lovely midtone grass green and applies well. It's a creme formula, and not streaky.

The yellow is a creamy banana yellow, banana when it's still the tiniest bit green. Not a true yellow. This one definetly requires two coats as it's a lil streaky on the first one.

The pink is much like the green in that it applies well and isn't streaky. I've been looking for this color for a long time, the perfect mid-strawberry-esque colors.

The blue is a little streaky, like the yellow, but that's fixed with another coat. it's a beautiful light blue with just enough pop. Again, another creme.

The last, a deep black with fine silver shimmer is very pretty. It's the only one with shimmer. It's a nice change from the cremes and I'll probably be using this alot in winter.

The OPI is Monsooner Or Later for size comparision.

Some Nail Polish! OPI Monsooner Or Later, from the India Collection

Hi all! I haven't been really focusing on the other part of fashion I love--nail polish!! This is a gorgeous shade perfect for summer, a great red-orange. Released Spring 2008 in the India Collection, it's a real winner. It's different from all my reds! However, for those shy of brights this is not for you! It's loud and obnoxious and begs to be noticed! (Perfect for me hehe!) Sorry for the foot pics too, but it's great as a pedi.

The shoes are Burberry wedges by the way, got them at an amazing sale! Very Naughtical no?
