MAC decides not to ship RODARTE Collection

Link here.

From the MAC Facebook Page:

"

M·A·C Decides Not to Ship M·A·C Rodarte Makeup Collection Out of Respect for Women & Girls of Juárez and their Families

This decision will not impact M·A·C 's commitment to donate all of its projected profits from the collection to benefit the women and girls of Juarez.

Out of respect for the people of Mexico, the women and girls of Juarez and their families, as well as our M·A·C Mexican staff and colleagues, M·A·C has made the decision not to ship the M·A·C Rodarte limited edition makeup collection. This decision will have no impact on M·A·C's commitment to donate all of its projected global profits from this collection to local and international groups that work to improve the lives of the women and girls of Juarez. We are currently conducting due diligence to ensure we donate to organizations with a proven record of directly supporting the women and girls of Juarez.

M·A·C and Rodarte are deeply and sincerely sorry and we apologize to everyone we offended. We have listened very closely to the feedback of concerned global citizens. We are doing our very best to right this wrong. The essence of M·A·C is to give back and care for the community and Rodarte is committed to using creativity for positive social change. We are grateful for the opportunity to use what we have learned to raise awareness on this important issue. "

I think this is a bit overboard...they already said they'd donate all the money they are projected to earn. It really doesn't do much good if they're just going to trash all the products they've already made (assuming that's where the products will go)...And what if they would've sold much more than ''projected''? Hm.

BREAKING NEWS--INFO on new MAC collections!

No, not all those mind-numbing collections on Temptalia [though those do sound a bit tempting]--the SPRING collection!

From the lovely M2deedeelicious on MUA, whose says:

"My SA told me that they just came back from the briefing. its still in the plans. There's an Exclusive Vivienne Westwood collection. And--a Disney Villians collection. (Insert from Ti_Amo: OMG!!! DISNEY?!??! VILLIANS!??!? OMG!!!! SQUEEEEEE!!!!) "no colors selected yet but they predict its gonna be bigger then HK and Barbie...Colors are supposed to be amazing, and there will be a name with Malificent something (for those who forget, Malificent is the evil sorcerer/dragon in The Sleeping Beauty)".

Here's a link to the thread on Makeupalley, though it's mainly me and a few other Disney lovin' ladies going OMG!!!!!

Also, ms M2deedeelicious asked me to drop a note by you guys about her website, The Traincase. I know a few people who have ordered with her, and she's definetly a source to consider!!

MAC Strawbaby

Oh. My. God. Nc25 and above ladies, you need this. Especially if you want a lippie that will brighten your face up. I had been lemming this for months after the 2/08 Fafi release, something like since June and July. When I managed to swap for this, I was *almost* disapointed when I opened it. It didn't look like all the pictures! But at first swipe across lips, it was love. The color description is a coral rose with rainbow pearl, in the lustre finish. Its pretty pigmented for a Lustre, and definetly pretty warm. The price was 14$, which is the regular price of MAC lippies. I probably wouldn't go to the trouble of hunting it down again because there probably are dupes out there, but I'd repurchase the shade anytime.

Left and Above (swatches) are MAC Lightly Ripe lipstick, Cult of Cherry collection.

MAC Hello Kitty Collection CONFIRMED!

"Rose Romance is a spring collection consisting of pink tones (clearly) in eyeshadows, blushes, and lips. I (stupidly) did not get pics or names of the products, but I did see them backstage this season. I also saw colours from the Hello Kitty collection, two of the Hair Mineralize skinfinishes, Blonde and Redhead, didn't see brunette, and I got to play with the penultimate liner."

--originaly from twitter thread on specktra.net posted by Macneil59, quoted by Erine.

Honestly, in my opinion, the end of it is just to see whether I do or don't like the colors--the packaging is just an added bonus! I will definetly be excited, however, the year after that I want to see what company MAC collaborates with!

Hello Kitty for MAC??!?

Link to original story:
http://nymag.com/daily/fashion/2008/08/is_mac_releasing_a_hello_kitty.html

The gals over at New York Magazine have called MAC to ask if this is true, and they would neither confirm or deny.

"Excuse us while we delve into some total rumormongering for a moment: We've been hearing that Hello Kitty would be launching a limited-edition makeup collection with M.A.C in 2009, so, unable to take the whispers any longer, we broke down and finally made some phone calls. And? A M.A.C representative would neither confirm nor deny the deal. Huh! If our fluency in flack-ese is as solid as we think it is, this sounds like the classic non-denial denial — so, you know. Assuming this isn't just a figment of our hallucinations, the collaboration could mean big profits, especially considering the cartoon feline's die-hard groupies and M.A.C's loyal legions. Plus, M.A.C's past limited-edition lines like Fafi and Heatherette have sold out fast, and an Emanuel Ungaro collection is dropping in October — so a cartoon-collab color line could be a surefire addition to their list of hot-ticket collections, especially for fans of Japan's cute kawaii culture. If this is the real deal and not just our beauty-obsessed speculation, would you buy the stuff? We're imagining lots of pinks…"
(--taken from the above link, http://nymag.com/daily/fashion/2008/08/is_mac_releasing_a_hello_kitty.html ).

A Hello Kitty collaboration would be awesome!! I'm not such a cult fan of HK, but I am for MAC! I think one or two select pieces would be enough for me. A Harry Potter colloboration, however...See more details on my made up collection soon!
