PSA: MAC Mineralize Shadows Repromote?

I was at my MAC store at the other day, and in the Mineralize shadows displays was Sea & Sky, Play on Plums, Engaging, and Fresh Green Mix! Weird! These were released in July last year--they can't still be there as they're already at CCOs! What's the deal? I also saw a huge box labeled Fresh Green Mix & Play on Plums in a cabinet. Are these being repromoted? I have no clue. I was dying to get out of there as the ladies paid me no attention at all and I was very irritated. I can't think that they are being repromoted so soon, and because there is Color Craft this July!

PSA: MAC Passionate is NOT going to be discontinued

Good news! Wherever the rumor that MAC Passionate was going to be discontinued came from, it's not! I am so glad because while I want this shade, I don't have the funds for it right now. Here's my chat with a MAC artist:

Me: I have heard that the eyeshadow Passionate is going to be discontinued. Is this true?
Sara: Hi! Let me check on that for you, just one moment.

"When I went to B2M yesterday [4/17/2009], the guy who served me and said it was the last time I would be allowed to B2M. Thought I'd let you know!The company who recycle the plastic don't want to clean out the makeup anymore so MAC has discontinued this program (just in the UK). I asked if it would be replaced with anything else or GWPs and nope, nothing!"

That absolutely sucks for UK MAC users! B2M is a great program and I can't believe that MAC couldn't find another company to recycle the plastic from. I suppose that now, they would just have to save the empties until they or someone else travels to the US, swap them, or ship to US friends to B2M them.

PSA: RANT: Stila lipsticks!

As an update to my much fawned over Rock The Vote Red, I am pissed off. Alot!

Let's take a trip back in time...

July 2008: Rock the Vote and Stila team up to create Rock The Vote Red lipstick. Cue excitement.

October 2008: I manage to swap for Rock the Vote (retail 17$)

October-December 2008: Tried Rock The Vote a grand total of 3x.

March 2009: I open RTVR and it's gone bad! It smells yucky--like crayon--when it used to smell like nothing.

WHAT THE HECK!? I pretty much have to throw away a 17$, tried 3x lipstick. Throw in the fact that I've had it for 6 months.

Wow Stila...that's all I can say. Better fix this, or you'll be losing a LOT of customers. I, for one, am not going to buy any lipsticks or glosses from stila till they fix it, because I don't like to waste my money. Now, I've got to trash it...

PSA: Youtube Makeup Kid Response

The new outrageous thing that's sweeping makeup communities. I thought I'd chip in my two cents, and those who are thoroughly sick of Georgiahuni (I admit I am too, this is the last I'll talk about her) can just skip this post.

Georgiahuni is a youtuber (former, youtuber, her account is suspended now) who acts freaky in her videos, is careless about her own safety and is about ten years old.

Even though I wore makeup at her age, I have accounts on various makeup sites, I am totally against Georgiahuni's videos.

It would be better if she seemed more aware of internet safety, didn't try to act sexy and all grown up, because it just doesn't work. In some of her videos, she's wearing a school uniform with the schools name clearly emblazoned, which is DEFINITELY not safe! She also posts her full name, and its kind of obvious she's lying about her age as 13 year olds don't act like that, whatever everyone else may say.

The whole thing about the her parents is that they may know but not care. People are trying to get her to be safe, stop wearing school uniforms, acting like she's on drugs in her videos (some of those noises are just not normal). They might not care that she wears makeup (that is totally beside the outraged point), but they obviously aren't educating her on the dangers on the internet, which is why everyone is howling for their blood.

Someone's retaliation video ("For the haters of georgiahuni") was about stalkers, and that no one should make videos on the internet because of stalkers. Because of her age, it's not just stalkers, its pedophiles. In her videos, she shows her whole face, her room, etc cetara. It's not simply not safe. In addition to just that, people have posted on her page creepy stuff, which should totally have opened her eyes to the danger but it didn't. There were comments like "do more of those sexy dances!" and "Wiggle your toes please, right in front of the camera", and if those aren't pedophile like, tell me what is.

I think that her video didn't exactly hit on why the makeup community is in uproar over her videos. But obviously there's so many opinions going on, I just tried to collect the most repeated ones. And I'm just voicing them out loud.

And because that was such a useless post, I'll be following it up with a nice long review on Kanebo Kate Glamtrick Eyes quints.

Touted as a feather-light eyeshadow that deposits extreme pigment, the USA was the last to recieve it as Europe and Asia have had it for months.
